研究领域:
1.中国古代金属文物、漆木器、陶瓷瓷釉腐蚀机理与保护技术研究。
2.中国古代颜料、壁画彩塑、油饰彩画、佛教造像保护技术与数字化复原研究。
3.中国绿色博物馆建设与预防性保护技术研究。
4.中国古代陶瓷器、青铜器、书画科技分析与原真性确定。
主要从事馆藏文物(包括陶瓷器、石器、青铜器及其它金属器物、丝绸、木器、漆器、皮革、纸张、壁画等)科学分析、科学保护方法和修复方法研究,修复各类质地的文物一千多件。在专业学术刊物上发表学术论文200余篇,其中SCI文章50余篇。出版专著5部,译著3部,主持编著3部,策划译著2部,其中四部著作获奖。获得技术发明专利4项。作为项目负责人,完成了“十一五”国家科技支撑计划“文化遗产保护关键技术研究”项目“铁质文物综合保护技术研究”课题。作为项目负责人,完成了财政部濒危馆藏壁画抢救性保护工程---馆藏壁画保护综合研究项目。在甘肃省博物馆工作期间,作为第一完成人和负责人,前后承担国家文物局科研项目3项,两项参加评奖分别获得国家文物局科技进步奖和科技创新奖。积极参加国内科技考古、文物保护与修复学术研讨会,与国内外许多文物保护机构和大学有密切联系。2004年进入中国文化遗产研究院工作后,负责全院科研工作和重大科研工程项目的组织工作,负责多项重要科研项目和重大文物保护工程项目,见《2005年以来负责的重要及重大科研项目》。目前担任《文物保护与考古科学》编委,《Heritage Science》编委。长期为《Studies in Conservation》、《Heritage Science》、《Microscopy And Microanalysis》、《Microscopy Research and Technique》、《Spectroscopy Letters》、《Spectrochimica Acta Part A》等刊物审稿。2016年受聘为国务院教育督导委员会办公室抽检博士学位论文通讯评议专家、教育部学位中心博士学位论文抽检通讯评议专家等。
